Each participant will raise their 100 chicks for three months at which time they will sell 70 of them (now chickens) to the local market. That money will in turn be used to purchase new born chicks. 30 hens (of the original 100 chicks) will be kept and raised by the participants to lay eggs. Most of the eggs will be hatched to continue the model, the others as food. From this point on the model will be able to sustain itself and grow. All 50 people with disabilities are able to work the chicken pens. It is a daily obligation that takes 4 hours per day. They will feed the chickens, wash and clean the chickens, clean the chicken pens, collect eggs, source and prepare feed.
